Going down the mountain is often filled with doubt and fear of what is to come, along with sadness of what has been left behind.

Our staff came down the mountain yesterday to begin a week of preparation for the high school boys. I am amazed by how our physical location changes how we view God, ourselves, and others. Just like Scott said in some of his talks, there are a lot of voices trying to distract us and it is very easy to be swayed by the exterior world.

The song at the end of the blog tells us that being with him in his house is better than anything else. I've always loved this song but could never relate with it because, for some reason I always thought they were saying they just wanted to sit in a church all day and pray. 

Jesus is fully present in his body, blood, soul, and divinity in every Catholic church tabernacle, but to remain in God's court doesnt mean we have to sit in a church all day. 

We must find god in the sanctuary of our hearts.

As we carry on with life away from camp, I encourage all of us to ask God to make himself even more present in our hearts than he was at camp. God's love is unchanging, so he doesn't disappear when we no longer sleep in the tepees at camp and he doesn't forget us even when we forget him. He is everywhere and desires for us to know him through all things.
